marketing mix 12

When you think of the types of services there are, what comes to mind? Some examples could be wireless networks, lawn maintenance, house cleaners, banks, and more. How about products? From phones and televisions to cars and potato chips, the list could likely go on as endlessly as the list of services. Some businesses offer both services and products. Most restaurants, for example, provide a product (beverages and meals) as well as a service (pouring drinks, cooking food, serving tables, cleaning dishes). Although there are many types of services and products, it is important to distinguish between them when considering the marketing mix. The approaches needed for certain aspects of the marketing mix can be different for services and products.

In this Assignment, you will identify the four Ps of the marketing mix and examine how they differ when applied to services versus products.

To prepare for this Assignment:

  • Review this week’s Learning Resources.
  • Refer to the Academic Writing Expectations for 2000/3000-Level Courses as you compose your Assignment.

By Day 7

Submit your responses to the following prompts.

  • Identify each P in the marketing mix and explain what each P is. (300–375 words, or 4–5 paragraphs)
  • Identify the similarities and differences between the marketing mix of a service such as a mortgage versus a product such as an automobile. (225–300 words, or 3–4 paragraphs)

read robert frost s poem quot out out quot in the text or online and discuss these questions

After you have read Robert Frost’s poem “Out, Out!” (in the text or online), please discuss the following questions

Frost took his title from Act V, Scene V of Shakespeare’s play Macbeth. What do you think prompted Frost to select those words from Shakespeare? What is going on at that point in the play? People from William Faulkner to Elton John have used images or words from this same passage, so perhaps we might infer that there is something there. What do you think?

What is the poem about?

Why does the boy die? Be careful. He does not bleed to death, and he dies way too soon for infection to have been a factor. What do you think? Does the boy himself give us a hint in some of his last words?

Some readers are disturbed by the final lines: “And they, since they / Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs.” How do you take the ending of the poem?

Does the ending bother you or not? If so, in what way?

What does the quotation from Shakespeare bring to the poem?

If the poem had a different title, perhaps “The Death of the Wood Cutter” relating to another Frost title “The Death of the Hired Man,” would the poem change?

Does the allusion affect the poem’s plot? theme? tone?

assignment testing for correlation and bivariate regression

You had the chance earlier in the week to practice with the correlation and simple linear regression and obtain peer feedback. Hopefully you are excited about the potential these tests hold; equally important is that you recognize some of their weaknesses. Now, it is once again time to put all of that good brainstorming to use and answer a social research question with the correlation and simple linear regression. As you begin the Assignment, be sure and pay close attention to the assumptions of the test. Specifically,
make sure that your variables are metric level variables that can easily be interpreted in these tests.

For this Assignment, you will examine correlation and bivariate regression testing.

To prepare for this Assignment:

  • Review this week’s Learning Resources and media program related to regression and correlation.
  • Using the SPSS software, open the Afrobarometer dataset or the High School Longitudinal Study dataset (whichever you choose) found in the Learning Resources for this week.
  • Based on the dataset you chose, construct a research question that can be answered with a Pearson correlation and bivariate regression.
  • Once you perform your correlation and bivariate regression analysis, review Chapter 11 of the Wagner text to understand how to copy and paste your output into your Word document.

For this Assignment:

Write a 2- to 3-paragraph analysis of your correlation and bivariate regression results for each research question. Do not forget to evaluate if the correlation and bivariate regression assumptions are met and report the effect size. In your analysis, display the data for the output. Based on your results, provide an explanation of what the implications of social change might be.

Use proper APA format, citations, and referencing for your analysis, research question, and display of output.

what is a risk assessment instrument

Project 2

    1. PPT presentation

At several points along the flowchart of the criminal justice system professionals are required to make judgments as to the likelihood an individual will commit a criminal act or another criminal act. For instance:

    • Pre-trial release – Is the person who has merely been accused of a crime such a danger to the community that they must remain confined while awaiting trial?
    • Post-Conviction sentencing – Is this person a viable candidate for supervision under probation or is they likely to commit another criminal act?
    • Correctional classification – What institutional environment (level of confinement, program availability, etc.) is most appropriate for this individual for their safety as well as that of staff and other inmates?
    • Release to community-based supervision (e.g., parole) – In light of the changes that have occurred since incarceration, is this individual suitable to complete their sentence under community-based supervision?

To assist in this determination, risk assessment instruments have been developed which, usually in combination with a clinical interview, will provide some measurable predictability of future criminal/violent behavior. Decisions about offender risk and potential for future recidivism are critical and can have dire consequences, including releasing offenders who are a serious threat to public safety, careers being tarnished or coming to an abrupt end as a result of negligence lawsuits, or imposing severe sanctions on offenders inaccurately identified as high risks for violence. So, do they work? The student will prepare a PowerPoint presentation as follows:1. Conduct research on the topic of criminal/violent risk assessment. Use the UMUC on-line library resources or other professional journals.2. Identify two risk assessment instruments to compare and contrast.3. Develop a PPT slide presentation which includes the following:a. A brief summary of both risk assessments (for which population of offenders is the assessment most often used?)b. Details on the validity and reliability of each risk assessmentc. The method, evidence and/or evaluation used in support of the risk assessment (i.e. identify a recent study and outline the findings)d. A comparison of each risk assessment, as well as contrasting the twoe. A conclusion Format:1. A minimum of 15 slides, not including title and references slides.2. The title slide should include the name and number of the course, the name of the student, title of the project and the date of submission.3. Resources, including course materials, must be cited both in the narrative/slides where appropriate and on a separate references page, using APA citation rules.4. Projects should be submitted using the Assignment Folder unless instructed otherwise.5. At the instructor’s discretion, this project may be submitted to Turnitin or other services for verification of originality.
