How do we make judgments about other people’s personalities, and how quickly do we make those judgments? In this Science of Attraction video, Kat Akingbade and Charlie McDonnell investigate the “halo effect,” which occurs when we have a favorable impression of someone that then influences our judgments of that person’s specific qualities. The halo effect is illustrated with an example of people’s judgments about a potential dating partner.
