For this assignment, your task will be to explain how Industry 4.0 technologies can become involved to hasten the deployment of renewable energy. Choose one of the following topic areas:

1) Autonomous Grid Integrated Vehicles

2) Smart Buildings

3) Generating Systems (i.e. wind, solar, hydro, etc.)

For your chosen topic, you should include answers to the following:

A) How will Industry 4.0 devices/techniques be used in this area help to balance the grid and match variability in renewable energy to energy use? What hardware/software will be involved? How could AI be deployed to help?

B) What information will need to be communicated throughout the system? (for example, electricity price, start/stop signals, etc.). Include whether the information needs to be encrypted or not and why.

C) Where will decisions be made? Will they be made by the individual GIV, Building, Generator or will there be a central decision making authority that will just tell all the equipment what to do? Could AI potentially help with this process?

Note: Don’t worry about giving any background on the problem, focus on the solution without any “fluff”. It does not have to be in paragraph form if it is easier to focus your idea in another way. Focus you answer on how your solution works and how it will balance the grid.
