Choose a metropolitan or larger city destination. The destination city should be somewhere you have never visited or somewhere with which you have very little familiarity. Using the Internet and other sources, investigate that destination using Tourism Organizations and other promoters as sources of information. Plan a 3 day visit for a family of 4 with 2 children aged 10 and 14 years. A good starting point is the destination CVB. Use the Destination Marketing Association International http://www.iacvb.org/ and search for the city you are investigating.

 

Describe a 3 day itinerary for the family’s visit using the following format:

 

List the web sites (at least 3) and other references you used to obtain information.

 

Describe what linkages/services need to be in place in order for the vacation to run smoothly.

 

Your response should be at least 200 words in length. You are required to use at least your textbook as source material for your response. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.
