Generate a topic for your Research Project. Explain in two to three sentences why you have chosen it.
The topic should reflect a psychological issue that is commonly experienced with a physical health issue. For example, your topic could be “depression in cancer patients.” The topic of depression alone would not be acceptable because it is not specific enough.
APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

The Research Project is a multi-segmented assignment, with elements due in Weeks 2, 3, 5, and 7. The Research Project comprises four separate components: (a) Topic; (b) Outline; (c) Rough Draft; and (d) Final Essay.
Choose a psychological problem that is commonly experienced by individuals who are dealing with a physical health issue.
1) Write a 1,250-1,500-word essay that addresses the following:
a) How can psychological theory be applied to describe the source of the problem and to treat the issue for the individual?
b) How effective is psychological theory in enabling the individual to deal with the issue?
c) Can psychological theory solve the issue? Why or why not?
2) Include a minimum of four scholarly references supporting your position.
3) Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
4) Submit the assignment to the instructor, using the following schedule:
a) Week 2: Topic is due.
b) Week 3: Outline is due.
c) Week 5: Rough Draft is due.
d) Week 7: Final Essay is due.
