Develop a plan to implement a proposed practice change using the EBP
process to address a nursing clinical practice problem. Students do not implement the proposed practice
change in this course.
The steps of the EBP process will be used to:
• identify a nursing clinical practice problem,
• create a PICO(T) question to address the clinical practice problem,
• search for and evaluate evidence,
• develop a proposed practice change to address the identified nursing clinical practice problem,
• apply an EBP model to guide implementation of the proposed practice change,
• create an evaluation plan to measure the outcome, and
• discuss plans for sustaining the proposed practice change.
The EBP process may be used in different disciplines. However, for this assignment, it is critical that a nursing
clinical practice problem is selected. Medical practice problems are not acceptable for this assignment.

to view a list of approved clinical practice problem topics for the EBP project. Students are encouraged to
select a clinical practice problem topic from the approved list. However, students may select a clinical practice
problem topic that is not on the approved list, provided they receive prior approval from their Instructor.
Once you have selected a clinical practice problem topic, you will write a PICOT question to describe the
clinical practice problem.
Project steps:
• EBP 1: Identification of a Nursing clinical practice problem and Create a PICOT question
• EBP 2: Search for Evidence and Evaluate Evidence (Search Strategy and Evidence Evaluation Table)
• EBP 3: Implementation and Evaluation plans
• EBP 4: Final EBP project presentation
