Age Discrimination in Employment Act Presentation
Using the Assignment Rubric listed below for the specific grading criteria, complete the following.
While there are countless federal laws and regulations that all Human Resource professionals must be familiar with, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) are among the most significant in today’s business climate. For this assignment, select one of the above employment laws and create a video presentation.
First, develop a PowerPoint presentation (a minimum of 8-10 slides) that thoroughly addresses the following points on your chosen law:
The major provisions of each law
Any exceptions to the law
Implications of non-compliance with the law
The effect of other state or federal regulations on the law
Two cases or examples that provide a detailed and descriptive illustration of the law applied to the workplace (this will require outside research; citations to the source used must be provided).
Then, record a 8-10 minute video of your PowerPoint presentation using Screencast-o-Matic or another screen-recording tool. Screencast-o-Matic is a free screen-recorder that is easy to use (please access this YouTube video for a tutorial on how to record in Screencast-o-matic). You can access the Screencast-o-Matic website here. You must appear on webcam in the video. Since the video will be graded by your instructor, the recording must be available on a public domain and not password protected. You must submit your PowerPoint slides to this assignment link as well as the URL for your video recording. Do not just simply read your PowerPoint slides in your video. Instead, make your video presentation engaging, lively and dynamic! And get creative with your PP slides – make them eye-appealing and capture a viewer’s attention. Please see the Assignment Rubric for more details.
