The Statements by The Greek Philosopher Socrates Essay

Once you’ve viewed the video, please give some good thought to, research and write a 2-3 page paper addressing the following points; ideally, by the end of your essay you will see a clear thread connecting individuals to larger human political associations:

1. Greek philosopher, Socrates, once said that “Man, by his very nature, is political and that our families are our first political units.” What do these two statements mean to you? What is “politics” to you? And, what is the structure of your family and how it is political?
2. What is meant by the term “band”? Once you have that in mind, do some research on the Indigenous and Native American peoples of what is now the United States and explain what the band is ( composition and structure) and how bands work and for what purpose. 4. Finally, what is a “nation” of people? What are the traits, composition, political dynamics and purpose of a nation? Can bands and tribes also be “nations” and how?
