200 words war horse

War Horse began its life as a children’s story. From there it became a smash play in London before repeating its success at the Lincoln Center in New York. It is now on a successful word tour, and in 2011 Steven Spielberg directed a film version (less successful). Based from the success of the play, it would seem that puppetry does far more than solve the obvious practical problem of casting a horse in the leading role. How do you imagine the puppets of the horses being effective? What did the actors, both those playing the humans and those as the horse Joey, have to do to make use care about them?
