The purpose of your special occasion speech is to celebrate a person by commemorating them and the
occasion regarding a fictional situation, or to celebrate something you have done and the occasion. Your goal
is to honor the person and emphasize the reason for the event to the audience. If you are giving a speech of
acceptance, your goal is to give thanks to the people who gave you the award, explain the honor of receiving
the award, and leaving the audience with an inspirational message. For this speech, you are welcome to
create the situation the details, and the relationships of the special occasion. Some examples of special
occasion speeches are:
