There are many different regulatory agencies responsible for the

healthcare
field. One agency, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), outlines many requirements and programs for any organization, not just healthcare, to follow in regards to safety and workplace programs.

Instructions

  • Visit www.osha.gov to see the requirements and program information. Employers are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for their staff and patients.
  • You have been tasked with developing a Workplace First Aid Program based on OSHA Requirements.
  • Your program should incorporate safety planning,

    personal protective equipment
    , and hand washing, hazardous materials information, and first aid information.
  • For your training program, create a PowerPoint Presentation to present to staff. This presentation should be at least 6

    slides
    (not including the title slide and reference slide) and incorporate speaker’s notes to show what your script would be.
