“One of the acknowledged functions of marriage and family is the provision of emotional support. Sociologists have observed that this function of family has become even more important in modern society than it was in the past, while other functions have been largely “replaced” by other social institutions. Address the question of why the emotional support function has become more important in contemporary society.”
