This topic piqued my interest, to be completely honest with you, I hadn’t given it much thought until I read the lesson plan. But in my opinion, I think it has increasingly become more popular, because people are not in a hurry to tie the knot anymore. Why make such a firm commitment so quickly? Even though they are not married, they can still reap the benefits of working collaboratively, learning more about the person and how they live, and having an intimate relationship with their partner even though they are not married.
Personally, I have been married for almost 19 years and have been with my spouse for 21 years, and I would not change how fast we got married. But in contrast, when it comes to my children, I will advise them to take their time and not to rush into marriage.
Cohabitation is not a bad concept in my opinion.

Nakul Bhatt,
In your opinion, why has cohabitation become so common in the United States and worldwide?
Cohabitation refers to engaging in marital activities with another without actually being married to that individual. As rates of marriage decline in the United States, cohabitation has actually been growing. One reason may be to test the relationship. Through cohabitation, couples are able to visualize their partners day to day life and decide if they are able to make the commitment of marriage. Moreover, another reason may be to spend more time with their partner and essentially learn things about each other’s character. Unlike marriage, cohabitation offers couples freedom and leeway while still taking part in marital activities. Instead of taking the step towards marriage right away, cohabitation acts as a safety net, allowing couples to reconsider their relationship on the basis of circumstances. I also believe cohabitation before marriage may lower the number of divorces.
