You will work on this project in groups of 3 or 4. This paper should at least 10 content pages, APA style, and using peer reviewed journals for references (See grading rubric). Please use headings (hint: follow this outline and make sure you include an introduction and summary.
- Introduction: Identify the aim of the paper. Introduce reader to what the paper will address.
- Problem: Identify one area at your clinical site that is not meeting desired quality outcomes or may be considered a potential problem. Give specific information regarding who, what, where, when as it relates to the problem (key players and situations). Discuss in terms of which Joint Commission quality indicator it relates to. In addition, document relevance using another indicator from a health (Health People 2020), nursing (NDNQI), or educational (QSEN) database or initiative. Describe why it is a problem or a concern (Potential problem) at this clinical site (i.e. is it related to technique, staffing, education, etc…).

- Literature Review: Conduct a literature review on the topic. Identify sources from professional literature that discuss why this is a problem. Then identify suggested solutions, how they were implemented and what were the results. You are establishing evidence here.
- QI/QM Plan: Create a Quality Improvement plan that you can initiate at this clinical site. It should be based on the information you obtained and reported in the “Problem” section of this paper. Additionally describe your plan for improvement and management. Each student must design a different audit (structure, outcome, or process).
- Analysis: How does the literature support the plan? Within the literature, identify three (3) in relation to leadership and/or management that would support the plan.
- Summary: Summarize your paper with some thoughts on relevance to population health, diverse populations and cultural competence, and nursing.
