Centrality	Power based on being central to how the organization achieves its mission and goals. Others comply because what the power holder provides is key to organizational activities.
Dependency	Power based on others depending on power holder to get their work done. Others comply because they cannot accomplish their goal without the power holder’s help.
Substitutability	Power based on providing a unique and irreplaceable service or product to others. Others comply because they cannot find elsewhere what the power holder provides.
