1b. After studying political ideology and the value trade-offs (order, freedom and equality) of different political groupings, identify the value preferences of the U.S. Democratic Party (and, more broadly speaking the party-“family” of Social Democratic parties), as well as value preferences of the U.S. Republican Party (which belongs to the party-“family” of conservative parties). Also, what were your thoughts when studying these trade-offs? (Note: you don’t have to share your personal views).

You are asked to contribute to each forum twice. Your first post should provide an answer to the prompt (which may consist of multiple questions), and your second post should be a reply to a fellow student’s post.
Your posts should be informed, that is, reflect that you have studied the course material. Your response to a fellow student’s post, too, needs to be meaningful. The discussion forum posts can be written in a less formal style than your papers, i.e. you don’t need to cite the course material you are discussing. (However, any outside-of-class material that you choose to mention, and/ or any quotations that you may wish to include require a citation). Basic spelling and grammar still needs to be observed. Think of these posts as the equivalent of speaking and conversing in-class.ss.
