You learned about the discipline of Political Science, the role of government, the concept of representative democracy, about the framers’ ideals and compromises, and about who the Americans have been. You also briefly studied political ideology and political culture. Studying this material, what facts and/or concepts stood out to you most?  Why?

1b. After studying political ideology and the value trade-offs (order, freedom and equality) of different political groupings,  identify the value preferences of the U.S. Democratic Party (and, more broadly speaking the party-“family” of Social Democratic parties), as well as value preferences of the U.S. Republican Party (which belongs to the party-“family” of conservative parties).  Also, what were your thoughts when studying these trade-offs? (Note: you don’t have to share your personal views).
