Greetings Class,

As we come to this juncture in the quarter, I hope that each week has brought us to new information and revelations about the world in which we live, how we live and most importantly-=how we perceive and treat one another. In keeping with this week’s topic social activism and social media, I would like for each of you to view (listen to) the video by Phil Collins “Another Day in Paradise.” It is my hope that all of you have heard the song and more importantly HEARD the words of the song.

The country that I chose to talk about is Iran the leadership of Iran is bad, because they prosecute and kill people who are gay, have cheated in a relationship, they are prosecuting Christians and people who are practicing other religions. There is a law in place in Iran that citizens of Iran must mandatory practice Islam. Based on Islam whom I think is a very good religion to practice God punishes those who break his laws before forgiving them, and so I believe that The Islamic Republic of Iran should not prosecute anyone based on race Adultery or based on religion. There are lots of unemployment in Iran and the Government of Iran should work on creating new jobs by renovating and building new opportunities by creating new firms or businesses. The government of Iran should take responsibility and face the fact that there are people who need help because of mental illness or other diseases, and should build a retirement system to help the elderly, should offer health care and open other necessary programs to help the poor. Because of the living conditions in Iran people are facing poverty and often protest due to not having satisfaction by the way that life is treating them or the problems that they need help solving within their life.
