I totally agree that metal detectors are needed in hospitals!! Sometimes I think about how many patients and/or visitors probably had guns or weapons on them makes me nauseous! Recently, we had been told that we were getting a station where our security officers could wond patients or visitors, but for some reason, the idea was pulled. I think metal detectors are a great quality improvement in which all patients and visitors have to go through upon arrival to the hospital. How would patients who come to the hospital by EMS go through the detectors? Maybe they could be wonded by security? Would hospital staff go through the detectors as well?
