Public Health Management Discussion

1. Please identify and describe a significant event in public health history. Next, describe systems-level implications related to this event. In other words, how did public health change because of this event? What systems were systems associated with this significant event? Describe their involvement and relationship with each other.

2. Please list and define the three core functions of public health and give a specific public health activity that is an example of each. (HINT: Examples are NOT the Essential Services associated with the core functions)

3. There are five functions of management; planning, organizing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling. In class, we discussed the roles that relate to each of those functions. In your own words, describe the three roles of managers and discuss how they relate to two or more essential services of public health.
